Consults can be done in your home, the hospital or on the phone.

You need a consult:

When breastfeeding is painful. Pain is NOT normal. Call right away, so that the problem can be corrected and your confidence in what you are doing can be restored.
If you feel that your baby is ‘not getting enough milk’. If you have a true low milk supply, this CAN be remedied! Call for a consult as soon as possible-before turning to formula ‘supplementation’. This would merely cause your supply to diminish even further.
If you have had some type of breast surgery and you now want to breastfeed.
If you have flat or inverted nipples and your baby is having trouble latching on.
When your baby is premature and unable to breastfeed.
If you have had twins or triplets and you are unsure about how to manage breastfeeding them.
If you decided NOT to breastfeed, and now your baby is having trouble with cows-milk based formula. It’s NOT too late to start breastfeeding. Call for assistance with “relactation”

Fees: $25.00 per 1/2 hour
(+ $5/hour driving time if outside theBloomington-Normal city limits)
Payment of fees is due at the time of service.

Consults usually take 1 1/2 to 2 hours
